Boulder City was born in 1931 - the same year construction on Hoover Dam began on the nearby Colorado River - thus forming Lake Mead - the largest National Park in America. Today Boulder City has a population of 12,000 and is the only town in Nevada where there is no gambling. It's a rare, small town with manicured green parks, and hundreds of mature shade trees. To quote our fabulous tap teacher, Gregory Filler, "Little Town, BIG Talent!" Find out more about Boulder City at www.pbs.org (then click on history and scroll down to Hoover Dam or Boulder City.) And if you'd like to visit the many sites folks in town have put up about their businesses, etc. please visit them at: www.bouldercitychamber.com.
To us, Boulder City is Brigadoon. And if you're not sure what that means, give yourself a treat and check out the classic movie "Brigadoon" (starring Cyd Charisse and Gene Kelly) at your local video store.
